Applications
1. Commercial Productions. Commercial productions must apply for
funding assistance prior to the start of production. Applications will
no longer be accepted after the start of principal photography.
2. Application Budget: Post production expenses may not exceed 30% of the total qualified Washington state spend.
During Production
1. Declaration of Residency Forms. Cast, crew or extras making less
than $500 on a production are required to sign a declaration of
residency form but are not required to provide a photocopy of their
proof of residency (i.e., driver's license, voter registration card,
utility bills).
After Production
1. Completion Packages. All productions submitting a production
completion package and a post-production completion package must choose
a cut off date to delineate the two types of expenses (production vs.
post-production). Once that date is chosen and the production
completion package is submitted invoices dated prior to the cut-off
will not be eligible for funding assistance. Similarly, the
post-production completion package may only contain invoices dated
after the cutoff and the post-production completion package must be
submitted within one year of the date WFW receives the production
completion package.
Definitions / Clarifications
1. Thresholds. Production companies may apply for funding assistance
for multiple episodes of one television show, however each episode must
meet the $300,000 in-state spending threshold. Commercials may meet the
$150,000 threshold by shooting multiple spots or running footage if the
spots are awarded at the same time as part of one campaign and shot
during one production period.
2.
Public Television. Public television projects will now be eligible for
funding assistance assuming that all other criteria are met.
3. Vendors that act as an agent or facilitator for out-of-state businesses are not eligible for funding assistance.
4. Airline tickets purchased through a Washington based business or travel agency are eligible for funding assistance.
