List Your Property

How to Showcase Your Property as a Film Location

Washington Filmworks receives location requests daily from the entertainment industry. These requests range from feature films, television movies, commercials, music videos, corporate media and still photography shoots. If you have an interest in listing your Washington home, business or property on our online location database, we have tips and guidelines for success.

Keep in mind the following:

  • Start by taking photos of the exterior of your property including shots of your street
  • Move into the interior of your property
  • Take photos from opposing corners of each room
  • Highlight any unique features of your property such as a pool, barn, loading dock, roll up door, etc.
  • Keep in mind that producers are not always looking for glamor shots
  • If your property has a business or property sign, include a close-up
  • Include photos of available parking on or nearby your property
  • Here is a link to a property (Stone Gardens) in our online location database for you to use as a guide

Please also include the following information in your submission email:

  • Your name
  • The address of your property
  • Your contact information
  • A description of your property with square footage and/or acreage
  • A statement that you are the property owner

When submitting photos, they must be in a JPEG. Please do not submit website links. General resolution and sizing standards are below:

  • 144 - 150 dpi
  • File size between 200KB - 1MB
  • JPEG compression = 7 good quality
  • 1280 x 1024 resolution (or higher) for large size web browsing

If a production has interest in your property, Washington Filmworks will provide you with details of their project. With your permission, we will connect you.

Washington Filmworks also welcomes photographs and audiovisual clips that show off the opportunities and advantages of making movies in our geographically and culturally diverse state. We appreciate all submissions. But, before you send us photos or clips, please join us in honoring the rights of the artists who take pictures and clips, and of the folks and trademarks that appear in them. If you don’t have the authority to approve our public, non-commercial use of the photos and clips, don’t send them to us because we can’t use them. If you send us photos or clips for public display you are affirming that no one’s rights are violated if Washington Filmworks uses the photos or clips in or on its location databases, websites, blogs, newsletters, press releases or promotional platforms. If in doubt, don’t send.

If you would like us to include a credit for the photographer, please advise us of the appropriate credit and we will endeavor in good faith to include it.

For clarity, Washington Filmworks will not undertake or authorize any commercial use of the photographs and/or clips. If you want more information, call us.

Please acknowledge that you agree by stating so in your email submission.

Send your submission to Info@WashingtonFilmworks.org with “Property Submission” as the subject. Once your location is added to our site, you will receive an email confirmation with a link back to the property info.
