Extending their outreach in March, Washington Filmworks Executive Director Amy Lillard and Production Services Coordinator Krys Karns enjoyed a liaison visit in the Snoqualmie Valley. Our film liaison in that area is Nathan Perea, CEO of the Snoqualmie Valley Chamber of Commerce. “We were very excited to have Washington Filmworks come out and tour the Snoqualmie Valley for potential filming locations. The Valley has such a variety of stunning natural beauty and historic charm and character and it’s all within 30 miles of Seattle,” said Perea. “We look forward to being the backdrop to the next great film project in the Pacific Northwest.” Most recently, Snoqualmie Valley hosted the Washington incentive feature films Lucky Them and You Can’t Win and a Washington State Lottery commercial.

The sunny morning started with a walk through downtown Snoqualmie on SR 202. The tour visited various quaint locations, most notably the Snoqualmie and North Bend Train Depots. Antique railroad coaches travel between these stops.

Lillard and Karns headed to the TPC Snoqualmie Ridge golf club to give a presentation at the Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon. They shared the important economic impact motion picture production has in Washington State and talked in detail about how Washington Filmworks can help facilitate production in the area. Before giving their presentation, they enjoyed meeting with city officials from the region, community members, school board officials, and students from Mount Si High School.

Finishing off the day with additional scouting, Washington Filmworks was made aware of the organization Sno-Valley Tilth. “Snoqualmie Valley is plush with a variety of agricultural landscapes. From family-run vegetable farms and working Alpaca ranches to blueberry, lavender, and sunflower fields bordered by historic barns, our area is a visual feast for any production,” says Melissa Borsting, Managing Director of SnoValley Tilth, a valley-wide organization dedicated to promoting local, sustainable farming.

Washington Filmworks would like to thank the Snoqualmie Valley Chamber of Commerce and the community for their hospitality and interest in partnering with our organization to attract more film production to Washington State.
